The World
Major Arcana · XXI
Upright Meaning
The World is the final card of the Major Arcana — the completion of the Fool's journey. The dancing figure at the center is both inside and outside the wreath simultaneously — she has integrated the journey, not transcended it. This is the card of genuine completion: not the end of all journeys but the full arrival at the end of this one, with nothing left undone, nothing left unintegrated. Something has been completed to its fullest expression.
Reversed Meaning
The reversed World signals an incomplete completion — something is nearly finished but is being held back from its fullest expression, either by impatience to move on or by an unwillingness to do the final work of genuine integration.
Guidance
“You are closer to completion than you think. Do not shortchange this ending by rushing toward the next beginning before this one is fully honored. Let the arrival be real.”
