About the Third Eye Chakra
The Third Eye Chakra is the seat of intuition, insight, and inner sight, governing perception beyond the physical senses. Located between the eyebrows, Ajna is where logic and intuition meet — the capacity to see patterns, trust inner knowing, and discern what is actually there beneath surface appearances. A balanced Third Eye holds reasoning and subtle perception without contempt for either, and lets decisions clarify rather than churn; a blocked one either over-relies on logic with disdain for the subtle, or escapes into ungrounded fantasy and magical thinking. Ajna is the chakra of seeing — clearly, and through.

Healing Practices
- Yoga:Balasana (Child's Pose with the forehead pressing into the mat), Adho Mukha Svanasana (Downward Dog), and Pinda Asana. The forehead contact and gentle inversion stimulate the area between the brows.
- Pranayama:Trataka (steady candle gaze). Sit one arm's length from a candle in a dark room and gaze without blinking for 5 minutes, then close the eyes and visualize the afterimage at the brow center for 5 minutes.
- Meditation:rest attention at the space between the eyebrows. Allow inner imagery to arise without grasping or interpreting; simply witness whatever appears.
- Sound:chant the bija mantra OM (AUM) 108 times, drawing the sound through three movements: A in the belly, U in the chest, M at the lips and forehead.
- Lifestyle:reduce screen time deliberately. Spend 30 minutes a day with no input (no podcasts, music, news, scrolling) so inner signal can emerge. Keep a dream journal beside the bed and record on waking.
- Diet:dark blue and purple foods (blueberries, eggplant, purple grapes, blackberries), dark chocolate, omega-3-rich foods (walnuts, flaxseed, fatty fish), and reduced stimulants in the second half of the day.
Affirmations
“I trust what I know, even before I can explain it.”
“I see clearly, beyond what is on the surface.”
“My intuition is a reliable guide, and I listen when it speaks.”
Bija Mantra · Seed Sound
OM (AUM)
Pronunciation: three blended sounds: A ("ah") rising from the belly, U ("ooh") moving through the chest, M ("mmm") closing at the lips and resonating into the forehead
Sit tall and chant OM slowly, allowing each of the three portions to last about a second. Let the M continue as a silent vibration at the brow center after the audible sound ends. Repeat 108 times.
When This Chakra Is Balanced
A balanced Third Eye sees what is actually there. You trust your inner knowing without inflating it, and you use logic without contempt for intuition. Decisions clarify rather than churn. Patterns become visible. You can hold uncertainty without panic, because you trust your perception to keep working.
